The Ionia County Business and Entrepreneur Resource Guide provides helpful information and contacts for current and future businesses about a variety of topics.

SCORE Counseling
SCORE confidential counseling is provided through the Ionia Area Chamber of Commerce at no cost to small business owners the first Thursday of each month. Just call the Chamber at 616-527-2560 to make an appointment to meet with our SCORE Counselor.

Several development incentives are available in Downtown Ionia. Please note that these incentives do not apply to every property or every situation. Please contact the DDA office at 616-527-1420 for more details, or to discuss a particular property.

Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Act (OPRA)
Available to building owners, OPRA is a property tax abatement program available to buildings assessed to be at least fifty percent functionally obsolete.

Property Improvement Program (PIP)
PIP is a program through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and is available for residential properties containing one to eleven units.
