The City of Ionia has an income tax of 1% for residents and 0.5% for non-residents who work in Ionia.  Income taxes are due on the 30th of April each year.

Because of the City Income Tax, Ionia has one of the lowest property tax rates in West Michigan.  Our operating property tax rate for the city of Ionia is just three mills and is levied on the summer property tax bill. ELECTRONIC FILING-TAX TOOL PREPARATION  City of Ionia residents and non-resident tax payers can utilize the City Income Tax Preparation Tool for electronic filing.  

MAKE A PAYMENT ONLINE  Individuals and Businesses can make their City Income Tax Payments Online.  Individuals need to use their alternate ID that is located on their billing statement.
