Officials from the Department of Transportation will be holding an informational meeting regarding this year’s M-21 (Lincoln Avenue – M-66 to Lovell Street) reconstruction project from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at City Hall on Wednesday, March 24th. This project is expected to begin in April, will result in the closure of this section of roadway for most of the summer, and will utilize Beardsley Road/Main Street/Adams Street as the detour route. Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend.
At its March 2nd meeting, the City Council approved a 6 month moratorium on the issuance of permits, licenses and approvals for the sale or dispensation of medical marijuana within the City so that the City’s Planning Commission has adequate time to further research the issue and recommend amendments to the City’s zoning ordinance, if necessary. The City Council will be holding two Public Hearings as part of its April 13th regular meeting which begins at 7:00 PM at City Hall. The first is to receive comments on proposed Ordinance #471 which, if approved, repeals Chapter 871 of the City Code regarding the regulating of tattoo parlors. The second is to receive comments on proposed Ordinance #472 which, it approved, repeals Chapter 832 of the City Code regarding the regulating of junk dealers.
